Morning Yoga Practice You Should Follow

Morning yoga practice is best done when it is done first thing in the morning, as soon as you wake up. It will also give you a great start to your day and help you get moving! There are many benefits of yoga for everyone that have been researched by experts.

Steps

1. The first thing to do is select a yoga mat that is 2ft x 3ft / 1 ft x 3ft in size.

2. Then, while you are sitting on the floor, you may stretch your hands over your head and then interlink them together.

3. Then, lean forward and put your elbows on your knees which should be placed close together. Next, lean forward and bend over so that your forearms are on the floor and your head is almost touching the ground. This position is called the “Downward Facing Dog” pose. Hold this position as long as you can stand it, and then raise your body back up while breathing normally.

4. The next step is to get back into the ‘Downward Facing Dog” pose, but this time bring your heels closer to the buttocks so that they rest on the ground. A slight bend in your knees is allowed here but not too much so that there will be no weight on your knees. Do this while you are wearing a pair of shorts (so that the back of your thighs gets exposed to the air) and your feet can grip onto the mat. Hold this position for a few seconds and then exhale while getting back into the starting position.

5. The third step is to get on all fours with your hands directly under your shoulders, and knees underneath your hips, with both feet placed in such a way that they can balance your body weight. Now, lean forward and put your head on the floor, while keeping your back nice and straight. This is called the “Plank” pose. Hold this position as long as you can stand it but not longer than that – otherwise you will feel uncomfortable.

6. The fourth step is to get into the “Plank” pose again, but this time narrow the hip distance between feet by about half an inch or one centimeter and then do this pose for half a minute or more.

If you want to do yoga for the first time, then it is important to stretch your body and calm it first before you begin doing the poses above. Also, it is best if you do these poses early in the morning when your mind and body are fresh and can give full concentration.
