Helpful Mindfulness Practice Tips

Your mind and body are subject to the same emotions, stress, and mental and physical upsets. Self-awareness becomes key to achieving mastery of mindfulness. Follow these helpful tips for ways to manage your mind through mindfulness practice.

1. Avoid Mindfulness Malfunction

Many people begin their day with a meditation session or a moment of deep reflection on their morning routine. The result is a lack of mindfulness that leads to a lack of effectiveness throughout the day. Make it a habit to use your mindfulness exercises before you begin your day.

2. Focus on Your Goals and Values

Make mindful goals and values part of your routine with reminders such as those provided by the practice or the Serenity Prayer. Use the following quotation: The serenity prayer is a simple but powerful way to start your day. It’s been a crucial part of my meditation for many years and I use it to help me stay focused on what’s really important to me.

3. Focus on Your Breathing

Your breathing is something you can always control, even if only for a moment; focus on the feeling of your breath as it moves in and out of your body. Make this part of your daily practice and check in regularly to see how you are doing.

Over the next few weeks, I will share with you some aspects of mindfulness, including breathing (also known as “breathing in” and “breathing out”), body awareness, and deepening your practice.

4. Meditation in Normal Life

It’s easy to burn yourself out when you sit and meditate every single day while going through the motions of your life. To prevent this, make mindful activities such as driving that serve a purpose in your life part of your routine mindfulness practice.

Remember to keep practicing your mindfulness exercises. This is something that you can build upon over time and learn new meditation lessons when you get stuck. Keep doing the best you can for the benefit of everyone around you.
